What can I do as a NAII?

NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, and age-specific care to patients and families to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and/or sustaining optimal health status. Responsibilities include:

• Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to: ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable), and Restraints
• Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
• Participation in quality improvement processes
• Involved in learning and self-improvement
• Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients, customers, and coworkers
