Job summary

National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) is seeking a Student Mentor and Tutor for the Pomona region. You will work with elementary to high school students, providing comprehensive academic support and mentoring to help them achieve positive post-secondary outcomes.

The role emphasizes in-class support, tutoring, and college/career planning within a holistic intervention approach. 35–40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, with compensation ranging from $18 to $20 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with underserved and underrepresented student populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse students.
• Proficiency across high school level academic subjects.
• Proficiency in Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Academic Support (40%) – Provide personalized academic advising in Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, and English.
• Mentorship & Behavioral Support (40%) – Promote positive classroom behavior and help students develop life skills.
• Data Tracking (10%) – Maintain accurate weekly records of student interactions and progress.
• Workshop Development & Facilitation (5%) – Design and lead workshops building cultural awareness and professional skills.
• College & Career Planning (5%) – Guide students through exploring postsecondary options.
