Job summary

National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) is seeking a Student Tutor and Mentor in the San Diego County region to support students in in-class and 1-1 settings. You will provide academic tutoring in core subjects, guidance on postsecondary options, and mentorship to foster positive behavior.

The role emphasizes comprehensive intervention including socioemotional support and college and career planning, in coordination with JCCS partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree; or currently enrolled to obtain a college degree.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Reliable transportation and internet access.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks (TB, State/FBI, and Volunteers in Probation for San Diego County).
• Proficiency in Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Academic Support: Provide tutoring in Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, and English and adapt to student needs.
• Mentorship & Behavioral Support: Promote positive classroom behavior and help students develop life skills.
• Data Tracking: Maintain accurate weekly records of student interactions and progress.
• Workshop Development & Facilitation: Design and lead workshops to build cultural awareness and professional skills.
• College & Career Planning: Guide students through postsecondary options including college and trade schools.
