Job description

The Postal Services Student worker performs tasks essential to the completion of university inbound mail sorting and delivering. The student worker must be able to help in areas where needed. This may include processing outgoing packages and cash handling.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the sorting of all incoming student mail.
  2. Assist in the sorting of all incoming student packages.
  3. Process mail and packages with accuracy and efficiency.
  4. Deliver student packages and letter mail.
  5. Ensure accuracy and quality of sorted and delivered mail.
  6. Processing pre-paid outgoing packages.
  7. Provide students with mailbox information.
  8. Answer incoming calls.
  9. Answer mail related questions.
  10. Assist with other LU Postal Service operations as needed.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.
