Job summary

Jacksonville School District 117 is seeking a Food Service Aide to support the cafeteria, playground, and related areas, ensuring a safe and orderly environment during meals and play. You will supervise students, assist with serving, and help maintain cleanliness under supervision.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred. Under supervision, duties include monitoring behavior, assisting with food distribution, and reporting safety concerns to staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working as lunch or food service aide, preferably in a school district or with children.
• Motor Vehicle Operator’s license or ability to provide own transportation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria during mealtime.
• Ensure tables and surrounding areas are clean.
• Supervise the playground/classroom during lunch.
• Assist with supervising students in libraries, and escorting students to and from school buses.
• Assist with orderly food purchases, distribution of food, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils.
• Report infractions or safety concerns to teachers, principal, nurse or security personnel.
