Job summary

Center for Tomorrow’s Leaders in Hawaii seeks a full-time facilitator to teach leadership in schools, mentor students, and support CTL initiatives. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and CTL staff, and occasionally travel to other islands within Hawaii. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and the ability to stand and teach effectively.

Center for Tomorrow’s Leaders is a growing, impactful nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging, equipping, and empowering young leaders for Hawaii. Through signature high school programs as well as Vanguard, CTL’s alumni initiative, CTL is creating an atmosphere for leaders to be discovered and launched. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this position, facilitator will be:

• Teaching leadership lessons in a variety of schools’ classrooms
• Learning and practicing the CTL leadership curriculum, and the field of leadership
• Liaising with advising teacher, administration and CTL
• Coaching students in character, communication and student-led projects
• Assisting with office administration and major events

This position reports to the CTL office and will include frequent trips to high schools. Hours are regular full-time, but nights and weekends may be required occasionally.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Skills/Knowledge:
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, mentor, and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and experiences
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively in both individual and group settings
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Physical Requirements: Applicants must also be able to stand and teach a full class period, typically 60 minutes. They also must be able to sit at a desk.
• Screening: Background check and drug test

PREFERENCES:

• Willingness to travel weekly to other islands in the State of Hawaii
• High School teaching experience
