Job summary

Center For Tomorrow’s Leaders in Hawaii is seeking a full-time facilitator to teach leadership in high school classrooms and support CTL's curriculum and activities.

You will work closely with teachers and CTL staff, mentor students, and help coordinate events and administration. Regular travel to other islands is required; evenings and weekends may be needed on occasion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in individual and group settings.
• Background check and drug test.

Primary Responsibilities

In this position, facilitator will be:

• Teaching leadership lessons in a variety of schools’ classrooms
• Learning and practicing the CTL leadership curriculum, and the field of leadership
• Liaising with advising teacher, administration and CTL
• Coaching students in character, communication and student-led projects
• Assisting with office administration and major events

This position reports to the CTL office and will include frequent trips to high schools. Hours are regular full-time, but nights and weekends may be required occasionally.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• Skills/Knowledge:
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, mentor, and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and experiences
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively in both individual and group settings
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Physical Requirements: Applicants must also be able to stand and teach a full class period, typically 60 minutes. They also must be able to sit at a desk.
• Screening: Background check and drug test

Preferences

• Willingness to travel weekly to other islands in the State of Hawaii
• High School teaching experience
