Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a Manager, Student Leadership and Activities to foster a vibrant campus community by planning and overseeing student engagement programs, events, and activities that support college goals.

Reporting to the Director of Student Life, you will manage student organizations, lead staff, oversee budgets, and develop leadership programs, including conferences and retreats, while ensuring compliance with college and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in higher education is preferred.
• Experience working with college students in extracurricular/co-curricular settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate student-focused programs that align with college goals and foster belonging and engagement.
• Oversee college-wide events, programs and traditions and support marketing, communications, and outreach to increase participation.
• Hire, train, schedule, develop, and monitor departmental staff.
• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with campus leaders, students, and employees to foster an iBelong environment.
• Manage budgets for assigned areas, including special funding requests for cultural programming and student activities.
• Collaborate with campus leaders, student organizations, and college administration to support leadership experiences.
• Develop, plan, and deliver leadership development programs for students (conferences, retreats, series, sessions).
• Participate in or lead special projects to enhance the student experience.
• Ensure compliance with LSC, state, and federal requirements related to student programming and activities.
• Collect and analyze program data and feedback to improve engagement programs.
• Serve on college committees to provide input on student engagement and success initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
