Job summary

The University of Michigan's Michigan Housing unit seeks a Training Specialist for Student Staff Selection and Training to lead recruitment, training, and development for 300+ student leaders across on-campus housing. This 40-hour-per-week role requires some evenings and weekends.

You will design marketing and selection strategies, coordinate onboarding, manage electronic personnel files, and provide guidance to supervisors to ensure inclusive, engaging residential environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Social Work, or related social sciences.
• 1 year full-time experience in student affairs or related educational services work.
• Experience developing administrative procedures and training others.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Designs marketing, recruitment, and selection of a diverse pool of student leaders, collaborating with campus partners.
• Supports application, interview, selection, and placement for 300+ student leaders.
• Develops and implements recruitment and marketing strategies for Residence Education student leader positions.
• Manages electronic communication and file management for staff records and training programs.
• Maintains ongoing communication with staff involved in supervising student leaders to ensure consistent implementation of processes.
• Assists the Assistant Director in training processes and in providing guidance to supervisors.
