Harrisburg University is seeking a Junior Lab Assistant to support Biology and Chemistry courses. The role involves hands-on lab prep, equipment maintenance, and ensuring smooth delivery of undergraduate science labs under faculty supervision.

Hours vary weekly with course schedules. You must be a current Harrisburg University student in good standing and able to commit to variable hours. Completion of at least one Biology and one Chemistry course is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled Harrisburg University student in good academic standing.
• Must be available to work variable hours across the work week as course schedules require.
• Completed at least one semester of general Biology with grade C or better for Biology lab support positions.
• Completed at least one semester of general Chemistry with grade C or better for Chemistry lab support positions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down lab materials before and after each assigned course session.
• Wash, dry, and properly store glassware and lab equipment following safety procedures.
• Label lab ware accurately for scheduled lab activities.
• Prepare solutions, buffers, and growth media as directed by faculty member.
• Maintain accurate inventories of chemicals and supplies and notify when stock is low or needs reorder.
• Complete errands and light office tasks in support of the department.
• Coordinate with faculty on scheduling and changes to lab setup requirements.
