Job summary

Albright College in Reading, PA is seeking a Chemistry & Biochemistry Student Laboratory Support to assist teaching laboratories for chemistry courses. The student will help instructors with preparation, setup, and cleanup, and support students during scheduled lab periods.

This is a work-study, part-time student position; completion of at least one chemistry course with a lab is required, and safety equipment must be worn. Prior lab experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one chemistry course with a laboratory.
• Familiarity with safe laboratory practices.
• Experience using analytical balances and glassware is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory instructors with preparation, setup, and implementation of lab activities.
• Distribute and organize chemicals, equipment, and materials at required locations.
• Prepare solutions and laboratory materials using proper techniques.
• Maintain and clean laboratory spaces and equipment.
• Support student learning during scheduled laboratory periods.
• Dispose of chemical waste according to policies.
• Record and analyze data from course experiments.
• Answer student questions and monitor progress.
• Read instructions and provide feedback to instructors on procedures.
• Perform other tasks related to teaching laboratories as assigned.
