Job summary

Albright College in Reading, PA is seeking a Chemistry & Biochemistry Student Laboratory Support to assist teaching laboratories in chemistry courses. You will help instructors with preparation, setup, implementation, and cleanup of activities, support students during scheduled lab periods, and maintain materials, equipment, and spaces.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one chemistry course with a lab.
• Experience with basic lab safety practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with chemical handling and equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors in preparing, setting up, and implementing laboratory activities.
• Obtain chemicals and materials from storage and return them after use.
• Distribute and organize materials at the lab before and during sessions.
• Prepare solutions and laboratory materials using standard techniques.
• Maintain and organize equipment and spaces; clean as needed.
• Test experiments to ensure they function correctly before student use.
• Read instructions and provide feedback on clarity or issues.
• Record and analyze data related to course experiments as assigned.
• Answer student questions and monitor progress during labs.
• Dispose of chemical waste according to college policies.
• Perform other duties to support chemistry/biochemistry teaching labs.
