Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking Student Entry Level Technicians to support IT Networks. You will assist with daily data network operations, triage Level 1–3 issues, and help maintain CMDB/NetBox diagrams and records. The role offers on-campus work, driver training, and entry-level IT exposure.

Ideal candidates are UNM students with a High School diploma or GED, basic IT knowledge, and willingness to learn A+/Network+ concepts while supporting campus LAN/WLAN connectivity.

Qualifications

• Introductory understanding of IT systems and networks.
• 1 year of work or volunteer IT-related experience preferred.
• A+ and/or Network+ certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily data network operations support and on-site verification.
• Triage and resolve LAN/WLAN connectivity issues up to Layer 3.
• Maintain diagrams, CMDB, and records in ServiceNow and NetBox.
• Participate in team meetings and inventory management.
