Job summary

NDOT (State of Nebraska) invites college students to join the Construction Systems team for hands-on coding experience. You will work on reporting, data transformation, and data transfer tasks using SQL, C#, and Python to support DOT systems.

Minimum qualifications include being a three-fourths-time student in good standing; preferred candidates have coursework in SQL, C#, or Python. Opportunities for schedule flexibility during breaks may exist.

Job Description

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has an exciting opportunity for a college student to join the Construction Systems (CS) team in our Business Technology Support Division (BTSD)! You will work alongside the Construction Systems (CS) teammates gaining experience with coding and with working through business requirements provided by the CS team. The work will contribute toward active department initiatives as-well-as working to update systems to take advantage of new coding practices and functionality.

Job Duties
  • Assist the Construction Systems team with writing code to support reporting, analysis, transforming, or transferring data within or between systems.
  • Report / Analysis writing and/or updating SQL to visualize data.
  • Transform data writing code using C# or Python to modify data for DOT systems.
  • Transfer data writing code using C#, Python, or SQL to move data within or between systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Must be a three-fourths-time student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Coursework, training, and/or experience in programming in one or multiple of the following coding languages: SQL, C#, or Python.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
