Job summary

Entergy seeks a Student Intern in Engineering for Summer 2027 at our Killona, LA site. The intern will support plant systems, resolve day‑to‑day issues, maintain configuration control, and assist in both troubleshooting and long‑term program health.

Responsibilities include cross‑functional collaboration with Engineering and station departments, and developing engineering change products to improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
  • OR a related physical science discipline associated with power plant operations.
  • Minimum current GPA of 2.8
  • Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve plant issues.
  • Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations for troubleshooting equipment, systems, and emergent conditions.
  • Develop and issue engineering changes, including design modifications and temporary alterations, in support of plant needs and equipment reliability.
  • Provide technical information and guidance related to program bases, performance requirements, compliance status, and industry operating experience.
  • Prepare engineering products in accordance with established standards, procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Support changes in system and component configuration, design, and associated design basis.
  • Maintain required qualifications and complete training necessary for assigned duties.

Job Summary / Purpose

The Plant Support Engineer intern provides technical support for plant systems, components, and related programs. This role is responsible for resolving day‑to‑day plant issues, maintaining configuration control, supporting Maintenance and Operations, and ensuring the reliability and performance of plant systems. The position serves as a key interface between Engineering and other station departments while contributing to both emergent troubleshooting and long‑term program health. Members of the team are expected to engage cross functional teams to resolve equipment challenges, develop engineering change products, and support the station’s work management process.

Education
