Allianz Commercial in New York is offering a 10-week summer Student Intern role in the Distribution Team. The intern will analyze broker and sales data, build dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and Salesforce, and collaborate across underwriting, risk consulting, and operations to drive insights.

The Impact You Will Have

As a Student Intern, you will participate with and contribute to the Distribution Team, helping support growth and retention by using data, technology, and analytical tools to generate actionable insights on brokers and sales performance. The internship program is designed to provide the intern with an opportunity to apply a macro understanding of risk in the real world by working side-by-side with our risk consulting, underwriting, distribution and operational support team professionals. Interns will participate in a wide range of learning and development opportunities including job shadows, attendance at internal meetings, speaking engagements and events designed to expose the intern to other areas of Allianz Commercial.

Some Of Your Responsibilities Could Include

• Exposure to the identification and analysis of risk and loss control advice. Continue exposure and education in the underwriting of the risk selection, and retention on accounts. Some activities will cross Line of Business in nature and may allow for a full spectrum of the capabilities of the Allianz Risk Consulting Team
• Collaborate on a proof of concept for a new data, analytics, or AI-driven tool, product offering, or research project
• Will be given other projects that can be completed within the length of the internship
• Participate in a wide range of learning and development activities focused on immersing the intern into how insurance works
• Help build and maintain reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and Salesforce to track Distribution KPIs and broker performance
• Analyze data across brokers, lines of business, and zones to spot trends and surface growth, cross‑sell, and up‑sell opportunities
• Support data quality in Salesforce (SFDC) and related systems so sales data is accurate, clean, and usable
• Use AI tools — and help prototype simple AI agents — to automate routine reporting and make sales processes more efficient
• Gain exposure to Distribution priorities such as business pipelines, broker insights, and the Originate > Execute > Retain framework
• Share findings with the team and proactively communicate progress and issues

What You'll Bring To The Role

• Currently enrolled as a university or college student, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Science/Analytics, or a closely related quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, lookups, pivot tables); exposure to Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or R through coursework or projects is a plus
• A curious, self‑motivated go‑getter who takes initiative, asks good questions, and enjoys digging into data to find the story behind the numbers, with the ability to work as a team member in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
• Strong oral and written communication
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach
• Interest in insurance, financial services, or sales; no prior industry experience required
• A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business, and an eagerness to use AI tools hands‑on to work smarter and automate routine tasks

The hourly pay for this role is $30.00. This is a Full time 10-week Summer Internship which will begin in early July 2027.
