Job Description
The Student Intern will support the mission of the Community Empowerment Center by assisting with family engagement, resource distribution, and maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. This role is ideal for students interested in education, social services, or community development.
Essential Duties
- Greet visitors and assist with intake and reception tasks.
- Interact with young children accompanying their families; help them find books and toys, and read to them.
- Assist families in accessing school supplies, hygiene items, food, and other resources from the Family Resource Room.
- Support enrollment services by helping families navigate forms and documentation.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to propose ideas for improving services and outreach.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Assist with workshops, classes, and community events as needed.
- Provide translation or interpretation support (if applicable).
- Collaborate with RCPS staff and community partners to ensure smooth service delivery.
