Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Transmission Student Intern to support design, analysis, and project work in electrical transmission & distribution at our Des Moines, IA office. This onsite internship offers hands-on experience with engineering tasks and cross-functional collaboration.

You will develop transmission design parameters, assist in studies and reports, and gain exposure to engineering software while contributing to real-world projects in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work in the United States legally for any length of time.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams, marketing, business development, and technical support.
• Development of transmission line design parameters, technical design and project review.
• Development of transmission standards and specifications, preparation of studies and reports.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of data from reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
• Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, materials lists, permits and designs for projects.
• Assist designers/technicians to reduce designs to working drawings. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
