Job summary

Stanley Consultants seeks an Electrical Substation Student Intern to join our Des Moines, IA office on site. You will gain hands-on exposure to substation design tasks and collaborate with multi-discipline teams to support project delivery.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a BS EE program (ABET) with coursework in power systems, a GPA of 3.0+ and strong communication skills. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BS EE program at an ABET-accredited university.
• Power system analysis coursework or equivalent experience.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing BS in Electrical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of various aspects of Substation Design.
• Assist with substation layouts, protection, grounding, and schematics.

Stanley Consultants is seeking an Electrical Substation Student Intern to join our Des Moines, IA office.

What You Will Be Doing:

• The student will work on developing an understanding of various aspects of Substation Design.
• Assignments may include the design of substation physical layouts, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans, grounding analysis and design, generating single and three-line schematic diagrams, panel wiring, DC schematics, control building and relay panel layouts, lighting design, and coordination with structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics disciplines.
• Will work as part of a design team; could be assigned to more than one project.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate mustbe enrolled inBSEE program atan ABET accredited University
• Coursework or equivalent experience in power system analysis
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior working towards a BS inElectrical Engineering
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have to work legally in the United States for an unlimited time without requiring sponsorship
