NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking two Student Interns to assist with recruiting for an epidemiology study on self-reported drug use among nightclub and EDM festival attendees. The study is National Institute of Drug Abuse funded.
Interns will work with a supervisor to approach entrants, collect saliva samples from a subset, and help track recruitment and payments. Ideal candidates are committed, motivated, and able to work independently in small teams.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern. In this role, the successful candidate Dr. Joseph Palamar is seeking two students to assist with recruiting for his epidemiology study examining self-reported drug use among nightclub and dance festival attendees. The study is funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse. The ideal student will be a committed, highly motivated individual who can work effectively, independently, and in small teams. Students enrolled at NYU are encouraged to apply. The recruitment assistant will assist research assistants survey individuals about to enter nightclubs and electronic dance music (EDM) dance festivals typically late at night. In addition, the intern will assist with collection of voluntary saliva samples from a subset of participants who take the survey. Familiarity with EDM and experience in the scene is a plus. Outgoing individuals who are comfortable approaching and speaking to people they have never met strongly preferred. Recruiters will work in small groups along with a supervisor to ensure safety.
To qualify you must have a Student pursuing a degree in a related field to public health. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
