A leading children's healthcare organization is offering a full-time co-op position as a Business Analyst. This remote role provides students pursuing degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields the opportunity to develop BI skills, work on meaningful projects, and understand the healthcare environment. Ideal candidates should have knowledge of Power BI, data governance, and compliance with HIPAA. The co-op runs from May 11, 2026, through August 8, 2026.

Qualifications

Job description

Brief Description of Role & Responsibility: This position will have the opportunity to work on projects and tasks to help maintain and advance the Business Intelligence community at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). The individual will play a role in assuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of CCHMC’s enterprise reporting. An ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics or a Healthcare related or similar field.

The program provides an opportunity for students to acquire BI skills as a Business Analyst and Developer gaining real-world experience and see emerging technologies as they are used in the field. Most of this work will be done in a remote setting, with some work done in the office.

Candidates will be exposed to many areas of the Business Intelligence field and gain an understanding of managing that work in a healthcare environment.

This is a full-time, temporary co‑op assignment running from May 11, 2026 through August 8, 2026.

Learn - The position responsibilities vary throughout Cincinnati Children’s and are established according to the needs and resources of the Cincinnati Children’s department providing the placement opportunity. Learn the daily routines of healthcare/research investigators, foster career interests in healthcare/research. Gain experience and awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in healthcare/research professions. Gain an understanding of different health/research careers, including the cultures and work environments that can be unique to a particular healthcare/research profession. Develop an understanding of the critical connections between education, work and goal attainment. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children’s mission and applicable laws and regulations. Complete Cincinnati Children’s training required for the position. Adhere to safe work practices. Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department / unit.
