Job summary

Hinds Community College is seeking a Housing Assignments Coordinator to oversee housing assignments, cancellations, appeals, and retention initiatives. The role acts as a frontline representative for the Housing and Residence Life office and manages StarRez processes and front office duties.

The position reports to the District Director of Housing and Residence Life, and requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred AA/AS and prior housing or student services experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative, operational, or student services roles.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to serve as frontline contact for students and families.
• Experience with housing operations or higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage housing assignments for all residential campuses.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of placement processes in StarRez.
• Serve as primary point of contact for assignment questions from students, families, and staff.
• Oversee the credit and GPA appeal process.
• Manage housing cancellation requests and enrollment-related cases.
• Coordinate room changes within StarRez.
• Maintain student records and assist with StarRez functions.
• Assist with recruitment and retention initiatives.
• Provide front office support and ID services.
• Collaborate with Housing staff to support department goals.
