Job summary

UW-Superior is seeking a Student Help to support affordable course materials initiatives in the Jim Dan Hill Library. The student will identify library-owned, licensed, and open educational resources to reduce textbook costs and improve access to materials.

You will review class schedules, locate instructional materials, and assist with outreach to instructors. The role covers 15 hours per week for 15 weeks in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 (450 total hours) at $13.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Employment will require a criminal background check.
• A pending criminal charge or conviction will not necessarily disqualify an applicant.

Responsibilities

• Review the class schedule each semester and assist with locating instructional materials.
• Identify required course materials and record data in a shared spreadsheet.
• Search the library catalog for materials and record perma-links for electronic and print resources.
• Communicate available materials to instructors and link to electronic resources as needed.
• Refer unavailable materials to Acquisitions for possible purchase.
• Identify OER from Open Textbook Library and record findings.
• Distribute flyers/information about affordable learning initiatives in the library.
• Track LTC/ZTC course markings from schedule each term.
