Job summary

A university health service in Tallahassee is seeking a Student Health Coordinator to lead high-risk behavior prevention efforts and oversee health promotion strategies. Responsibilities
  • Provides coordination, education, outreach and training for high-risk behavior prevention efforts including, but not limited to, alcohol and other drugs.
  • Identifies priorities based on data and evidence-based interventions using a public health approach to plan, implement, and evaluate theory- and evidence-based, innovative programs that focus on individuals and their environment.
  • Researches and develops resources for strategic efforts related to health and safety; collaborates with staff in other health promotion and prevention areas as needed; serves on related campus committees; oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of theory and evidence-based health promotion strategies, policies, programs and services related to wellness and risk management.
  • Provides support for the collegiate recovery program including strategic planning; student programming; peer education; and the collegiate recovery space.
  • Assists in the recruitment, training, and supervision of student volunteers and student-staff (peer educators, graduate assistants, interns, etc.).
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years experience or a combination of post‑high‑school education and experience equal to seven years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Ability to utilize conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to train and supervise employees.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
