Job summary

Corewell Health's Healthier Communities School Advocacy Grand Rapids program seeks a School Health Advocate to provide direct student care under the RN's delegation. You will administer medications, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with school staff to support student health needs.

You will collect health information, document services, and connect high-risk families with community resources, while promoting a healthy, safe school environment and FERPA-compliant communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CRT-First Aid certification required.
• CRT-CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the school health office primary contact for health related needs.
• Provides direct student health care as delegated by the RN according to school district policies.
• Collects information, such as vital signs and history of illness or injury and communicates with RN to determine disposition.
• Documents direct and indirect services provided and other pertinent program data.
• Administers medications under the delegation of the RN according to policies.
• Coordinates with school staff and families to access community resources.
• Advocates for students and families to promote health and independence.
