Kellogg Center in East Lansing is seeking a Student Food Service Assistant to support staff with food preparation, cooking, and serving across all meal options. You will follow food safety standards to ensure safe handling and serving, while delivering outstanding guest service in Culinary Services.
Responsibilities include cooking, preparing, serving, cleaning, and coordinating with supervisors and students to complete tasks per shift.

Starting rate: $16/hour effective 8/9/26 (employees hired prior to this date will be brought to the new minimum).
As a Student Food Service Assistant, you will assist full-time staff with preparation, cooking, and serving of food for all meal options at the venue. You must be knowledgeable of food safety regulations and standards to ensure safe handling and serving of all meals. Your role is to provide outstanding customer service to guests of Culinary Services.

Dining hall hours vary per semester.
Employees must work varied shifts, including early mornings (possible start 6:00 AM), nights (until 10 PM), and weekends. Employees will be scheduled for weekend shifts on an alternating weekend basis.
During the school year, domestic student employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week, and international student employees may not work more than 20 hours per work week.
During school breaks, between semesters, and during Summer semester, all student employees are permitted to work up to 40 hours per work week when dining halls are open and if work is available.
