Job summary

Loyola University Chicago is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to guide undergraduate and graduate students through financing a Loyola education. You will lead customer service across multiple channels and ensure accurate aid packaging and verifications.

The role requires experience with federal/state regulations, PeopleSoft, and collaboration with campus partners to deliver comprehensive financial aid services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3–5 years of related experience; solid knowledge of federal and state regulations.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population; attention to detail; adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to students and parents via phone, e-mail, walk-in, and other engagement regarding all financial aid matters.
• Conduct file reviews, perform professional judgement, complete verification, and update award packaging as required.
• Monitor/manage application statuses within the student information system.
• Access federal/state systems (COD, NSLDS, GAP Access, FSA, etc.) to verify student aid eligibility.
• Support Financial Aid Office by managing program areas such as R2T4, SAP, FWS, Scholarships, Consortium, Veterans.
• Support the University through presentations at FAFSA workshops, financial wellness programs, orientations, and admission events.
• Collaborate with campus partners to provide a holistic service approach.
• Performs other duties as required.
