Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is hiring a Financial Aid Officer to provide customer service and guidance to financial aid applicants and families throughout the aid process. You review and verify applications, determine eligibility under federal, state, and institutional policies, and oversee one or more aid programs.

You will counsel students and families in person, by phone, and by email for an assigned subset of applicants, serve as walk-in counselor, and develop financial aid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Experience in higher education student services.
• Knowledge of Title IV federal financial aid regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in collecting, preparing, and analyzing financial aid data for stakeholders.
• Triages processes or applications if issues arise.
• Awards financial aid to qualifying students.
• Audits financial aid applications for awarding in accordance with policies and regulations.
