Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Student Affairs Manager to support the Human Ecology undergraduate student experience by developing and supporting programmatic extracurricular initiatives and opportunities for industry networking and internships.

The role involves collaboration with the Executive Director, Associate Director of CommNS, and the Director of OSP to expand and sustain student-focused programs, with potential extension or conversion based on need and funding.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated working knowledge with undergraduate and graduate education in a university setting – including curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Professional experience and strong demonstrated skills in facilitation, managing stakeholder relations, development, and stewardship.
  • Demonstrated skills and/or professional work experience involving community-engaged research activities and service learning.

Responsibilities

  • Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs
  • Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures
  • Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit
  • Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
