Job summary

Utah Valley University seeks engineering tutors for the Academic Tutoring department to assist students in ENGR courses both individually and in groups. Tutors may be assigned to the on-campus tutoring labs and online sessions, and will participate in class visits, handouts, and workshop development.

Ideal candidates are current UVU students with a 3.0 GPA or higher and a solid grasp of ENGR2010, ENGR2030, and ENGR2140, with strong communication and study-skills abilities to support diverse

Qualifications

• Current UVU student in good standing with minimum GPA requirement.
• Minimum grade B or higher in ENGR2010, ENGR2030 and ENGR2140.
• Familiarity with other ENGR courses offered at UVU.

Responsibilities

• Tutors students one-on-one and in small groups across ENGR courses.
• Assist face-to-face on campus and in online tutoring labs as needed.
• Contribute to class visits, handouts, and workshop design.
• Help students develop study strategies and content understanding.
• Maintain confidentiality and adapt coaching for diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with staff/faculty to support tutoring labs and trainings.

Utah Valley University is seeking engineering tutors for the Academic Tutoring department who will work one-on-one and with groups to help students navigate the challenges of their assigned courses and content material.

Position Overview:

• On top of face-to-face appointments, tutors may be assigned to the online tutoring lab or in other labs across campus. Tutors are also expected to contribute to certain Academic Tutoring initiatives like conducting class visits, creating and updating handouts, and designing workshops.
