Job summary

RESPEC seeks a Student Engineer (Structural) Intern for our Summer Internship 2027 program in our Anchorage, AK office. This is a temporary part-time position.

Interns will work with RESPEC’s Facilities (Structural) Market Sector to support design efforts and gain real-world experience. Mentored by experienced staff, you will perform calculations, engage in field inspections, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on public and private sector projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Solid time management skills and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in an efficient manner.
• Coursework in steel, wood, concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete design.
• Good working knowledge of fundamentals of structural engineering concepts.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Strong problem-solving and math skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Team player who strives to provide quality work.
• Some proficiency with Autocad Revit

RESPEC seeks a Student Engineer (Structural) Intern for our Summer Internship 2027 program in our Anchorage, AK office. This is a temporary part-time position.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience with a growing North American engineering consulting firm. This is a temporary part-time position.

This hands-on design position is within RESPEC’s Facilities (Structural) Market Sector. This internship position will work alongside our firm’s full-time employees to learn how professional services are provided to our clients. Our experienced staff will provide mentoring and coaching to our interns to allow development of civil engineering skills and knowledge. Interns will get exposed to our clients, job sites, communities, as well as collaborate with our RESPEC multi-discipline team on public and private sector clients. Additional responsibilities include:

• Assist with design work
• Perform calculations and simulations
• Research topics as assigned
• Assist with field inspections

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering

Preferred qualifications include the following:

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary depends on experience. This is temporary part-time position. No benefits are offered except those that are required for statutory purposes.

Work Schedule: During the summer months; 40 hours/week.
