State of Oklahoma invites applications for an Engineer Apprentice (OU) in the OK Transportation program. This student-level role is part‑time, training-focused, and involves routine engineering tasks under close supervision while attending the University of Oklahoma.

Level I targets bachelor’s students; Level II targets master’s/doctorate students in Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical/Transportation fields, with GPA ≥2.5 and a 20-hour work week commitment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours and minimum 2.5 GPA; able to work at least 20 hours/week.
  • Level II requires pursuing master's/doctorate in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and a completed bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants must be United States citizens or legal residents; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

  • Review less complex plans and perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Write permits and perform computer modeling.
  • Inspect parts of an engineering project under supervision.
