State of Oklahoma seeks an Engineer-in-training to join the Department of Transportation. You will assist in developing and reviewing engineering plans, conduct inspections, and help implement regulations under supervision.

The role is part of the Engineer Workforce Development program, offering mentorship, exposure to transportation projects across Oklahoma, and opportunities to pursue professional credentials while building hands-on experience.

Qualifications

  • Level III: bachelor’s degree in architectural/civil/construction/environmental engineering or related field (ABET-accredited) or construction management with heavy/civil option.
  • Level IV: registration as Engineer Intern with the Oklahoma Board, in addition to Level III requirements.
  • Level V: Level IV requirements plus one year of engineering experience or master’s degree in a related field substituted for one year of experience.
  • Level VI: Level IV requirements plus two years of engineering experience or master’s degree substituted for one year of experience.
  • Level VII: registration as Engineer Intern and three years of engineering experience; or master’s degree substituted for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, prepares and/or reviews engineering plans and designs for structures, facilities and/or systems.
  • Reviews reports and studies to identify engineering solutions and conducts inspections during construction.
