Job summary

Hillel at UVM seeks an Engagement Associate to support relationship-based student engagement and vibrant Jewish life on campus. You will build authentic relationships, spark creativity, and help students feel connected to Jewish life, learning, and Israel.

This role suits early-career professionals who enjoy direct student work and creating engaging programs. Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, you’ll collaborate with staff and student leaders to design and implement Shabbat

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Recent graduates or graduating seniors, 0–3 years of experience.
• Strong interest in student engagement and Jewish life.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and initiative to solve problems.
• Ability to collaborate while owning projects and relationships.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and Jewish holidays.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Build authentic relationships with Jewish students through conversations, small groups, tabling, and campus presence.
• Meet students across campus including evenings and weekends.
• Identify students and connect them to meaningful Jewish experiences.
• Follow up to affirm relationships and Hillel connection.
• Plan, implement, and execute Shabbat dinners, holidays, immersive experiences, and programs.
• Collaborate with staff and student leaders on creative initiatives.
• Assist with logistics, outreach, and follow-up for welcoming programs.
• Engage students in informal conversations about Jewish life and Israel.
• Support campus partners and participate in network engagements.
• Track student interactions and program participation, contribute to team planning.
