Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a Student Activities and Engagement Coordinator to partner with the Principal in fostering a safe, inclusive, and culturally-responsive school environment.

The role entails scheduling, planning, and supporting student activities, coordinating remediation, tracking attendance, and ensuring robust student engagement across daily and after-school programs.

Qualifications

• Virginia teaching license or eligibility required.
• Strong knowledge of subject content, curriculum, and effective teaching methods.
• Ability to apply current research and theory to instructional programs.
• Skilled in use of multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
• Excellent written and oral communication and human relations skills.
• Ability to keep accurate records and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate with individuals from varied cultural and educational backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal in nurturing a school climate that promotes student connections during the day and through co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with staff, students, families, and the community to support student engagement and learning.
• Coordinate remediation and credit recovery scheduling and track participation.
• Monitor chronic student absenteeism and address attendance concerns.
• Confer with students regarding engagement and behavior to reduce tardies and referrals.
• Provide opportunities for student voice and feedback to foster an inclusive environment.
• Analyze data to inform school climate and culture improvements.
• Advise the Principal on supervision of student activities and co-curricular programs.
• Oversee fiscal management for student activities and programs under the Principal's direction.
• Prepare and publicize supervisory schedules for activities and building use.
• Ensure compliance with activity-related financial and bookkeeping requirements.
• Coordinate fundraising activities and obtain Principal approval.
• Coordinate building use scheduling with the school and community.
