Student Engagement Coordinator
The Student Engagement Coordinator supports university recruitment initiatives by coordinating campus recruitment events, prospective student group tours, and recruitment presentations. This role collaborates with team members to create engaging experiences for prospective students and their families. The coordinator develops creative content for admissions social media pages and student engagement platforms, produces basic video content for recruitment communications, and designs promotional materials to support recruitment and outreach efforts using a variety of software and design tools.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for organizing group tours with high schools and community colleges including reserving space, communicating needs with on-campus departments, securing tour guides, etc. Deliver recruitment presentations to groups of prospective students.
- Assist with planning and execution of on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment events including development of event materials and publications, day‑of‑event management, space reservations, managing student ambassadors, etc. Support the campus visit program by assisting with check‑in for daily tour and providing tours as needed.
- Maintain student engagement platforms (i.e. ZeeMee), admissions social media accounts, and the virtual tour platform. Create content, take pictures, and create videos for use in these platforms. Develop a plan for prospective student engagement through social engagement platforms.
- Develop recruitment publications and presentations using a variety of software systems. Create, edit, update tour and event survey forms.
- Provide support as the in‑house admissions contact when admissions counselors are unavailable. Reactively answer questions via phone and walk‑ins in a timely manner, assist with the management of the admissions email, maintain knowledge and understanding of current admissions standards, college placement tests, FAFSA updates and additional relevant information.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Banner and Salesforce systems
- Knowledge of tools such as Canva and Photoshop
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Skilled in professional, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Required with experience in social media content development, video editing, and/or graphic design.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work selected evenings and weekends, minimal travel may be needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Experience working in fast‑paced, customer‑focused environments while maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.
- Ability to learn admissions and financial aid requirements and deadlines for high school and transfer students; general knowledge about all Angelo State University programs, majors, services, and their requirements, restrictions and costs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move 40 pounds.
