Job summary

Shawnee State University seeks a student assistant to support the Engineering Technology Cybersecurity Program. You'll maintain and operate equipment in the Cyber classroom, lab, and Noc lab, and assist with faculty during lecture labs.

You will manage inventory, help students, and participate in off-campus recruiting events. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Maintain and operate equipment in the Cyber classroom, lab, and Noc lab.
• Assist with faculty in lab during lecture lab scheduled times.
• Maintain inventory of classroom and lab equipment necessary for student projects.
• Provide environment in which student success can be attained.
• Assist other students with equipment and projects during open lab times.
• Maintain appearance/cleanliness of labs.
• Attend off campus recruiting events.
• Comfortable with public speaking and hands on demonstrations to industry and group tours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Registered full time in the Information Security (Cybersecurity) Program.
• Demonstrate ability to follow directions and be a leader.
• Obtained a minimum of sophomore level.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Engineering Technology Cybersecurity Program focuses on students learning how to detect and defend against network infrastructure attacks by learning how to think like a hacker and how to use the tools hackers use to penetrate network defenses.
