Job summary

University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg is seeking a Student Worker to support Athletic Grounds staff with daily maintenance of athletic fields and surrounding areas.

The role offers hands-on experience in turf care, landscaping, equipment operation, and game-day prep, with 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Must be currently enrolled and able to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mowing, trimming, edging, and general maintenance of athletic fields and surrounding grounds.
• Assist with preparing athletic fields for practices, games, and special events.
• Help with field lining, painting, dragging, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, and other turf maintenance activities.
• Maintain warning tracks, dugouts, spectator areas, walkways, and other areas surrounding athletic facilities.
• Operate hand tools and approved grounds maintenance equipment under supervision.
• Assist with weed control, landscaping, planting, mulching, and other landscape maintenance activities.
• Pick up trash and debris and help maintain a clean and safe environment around athletic facilities.
• Assist with setting up and removing athletic field equipment, including goals, nets, bases, fences, and other field components.
• Help with game-day and event preparation, including setup and cleanup.
• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, irrigation problems, or field issues to the Athletic Grounds supervisor.

This position provides hands-on experience in sports field maintenance, landscaping, turf care, equipment operation, and general grounds maintenance. Driver's license required for this position.

• Assist with mowing, trimming, edging, and general maintenance of athletic fields and surrounding grounds.
