Job summary

Wingate University in North Carolina seeks a Student Development & Independent Living Specialist for Julia’s Learning. You will design and implement individualized development plans and provide one-on-one coaching to help students build independence and essential life skills via campus experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Julia’s Learning, you will partner with campus staff, mentors, and families to ensure meaningful progress toward goals, focusing on executive functioning and transition to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Three or more years of experience supporting adolescents or young adults with disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of executive functioning and transition-to-adulthood concepts.
• Experience developing curriculum and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized student development plans.
• Provide one-on-one coaching to develop independence and life skills.
• Help students build executive functioning, problem-solving, and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with directors, campus staff, families, and mentors.
• Assess student progress and contribute to program improvements.
