Desert Thunder School is seeking a Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of students at crossings. The role involves guiding children, signaling pedestrians, and coordinating with school administration.

Responsibilities include escorting students across intersections, placing school zone signage, reporting traffic violations, and maintaining safety-minded judgment during duties. Calendar: 10 months; 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to escort students safely across thoroughfares.
• Must be able to work a split shift.

Responsibilities

• Assists children through intersections and crosswalks.
• Instructs children on traffic signals and signals to use.
• Alerts motorists to the presence of children by signaling with signs.
• Places and removes school zone signs.
• Reports motorists who violate school zone traffic laws to supervisor.
• Uses good judgment to protect student and adult safety.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
