The Georgia Center, located on campus across from Stegeman Coliseum, is the campus hub for non‑credit professional and continuing education courses and home of the on‑campus hotel. Location: Athens Area.

Employment Type: Employee. Advertised Salary: 14.30/hr or commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
• Candidates should possess strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, attention to detail, and adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
• Familiarity with AP Style, WordPress, social media, or digital communications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Georgia Center's Marketing and Communications team in creating written content supporting marketing, PR, and storytelling efforts.
• Identify storytelling opportunities, gather information from stakeholders, conduct interviews, and develop content for multiple channels (news, features, press releases, website copy, emails, social media, marketing materials).
• Assist with fact-checking, editing, and ensuring content aligns with Georgia Center brand standards and messaging.
