Job summary

KU Student Affairs is seeking a Student Communications Associate to create promotional materials for students, staff, and families. You will develop video and graphic design content and help promote Student Affairs programs across print and digital media.

The role emphasizes visual storytelling, strong written communication, and organizational skills, with duties in Kansas Union Suite 400 and flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be in good academic standing.
• Website content management experience (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Availability to work some nights, mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of a social media plan for the academic year.
• Photograph, film, and capture events as requested by Student Affairs staff.
• Draft and edit communications copy and material for student audiences.
• Edit video content to be shared on various platforms.
• Promote a welcoming environment for all members of the KU campus community.
• Attend and participate in trainings and events.
• Report work hours and complete timesheets as directed by the supervisor.
