Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Dolph Briscoe Center for American History is seeking a Sr. Student Associate, Collection Appraisal Intern to assist with reappraisal, weeding, and maintenance of the library collection at UT Main Campus.

The position offers 19 hours per week, non-exempt status, immediate start, and a temporary appointment through May 15, 2027. Candidates must be UT students and may gain hands-on experience with special collections, archives, and library operations.

Qualifications

• University of Texas student status and enrolled in at least six semester credit hours.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reappraisal, weeding and maintenance of the library collection
• Identify collections, series, or items that no longer fit Briscoe Center scope
• Engage in stacks maintenance and shifting books
• Prepare weeded materials for disposition
