Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a coach/advisor responsible for supervising students in various activities at Sparks High School. This role requires sound leadership skills, knowledge of sports rules, and the ability to develop rapport with students.

The position is based on a stipend according to the 'Extended Day Duty Scale'. Candidates are preferred to have prior coaching experience and a valid Nevada Teaching Certificate.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
• Experience as a coach/advisor in specific activities.
• Knowledge of rules and theory related to the specific activity.
• Skill in developing rapport with students and providing leadership.
• CPR certification required for coaches/advisors involved in athletics.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with students and provide sound leadership.
• Maintain cooperation with the Principal and/or Athletic Director.
• Develop a system for accountability and equipment protection.
• Attend all contests and practice sessions.
• Complete appropriate reports evaluating the activity.
