Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a coach/advisor for an Extended Day Duty activity at Reed High School. Under general supervision, you will coach or advise students, uphold high standards of sportsmanship, and ensure student safety and welfare.

Compensation is a stipend based on the Extended Day Duty Scale negotiated with the Washoe Education Association. Weekend and varied-hour commitments may be required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to education and experience that could qualify for the role.
• High school diploma required; teachers under contract preferred.
• Some experience as coach/advisor in this activity is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership.
• Maintains cooperation with Principal/Athletic Director and communicates program status.
• Develops accountability, upkeep and protection of equipment.
• Develops good public relations in school and community.
• Attends contests and practice sessions.
• Completes reports evaluating the activity and makes improvements.
