Job summary

Barnes & Noble Education’s UC Berkeley campus bookstore seeks a driven undergraduate Student CMO for 2026–2027. You’ll create social content, promote events, and help shape the student experience on campus.

You’ll gain hands-on marketing experience in digital marketing, brand strategy, content creation, and campus engagement while working in a fast-paced retail environment. This internship offers portfolio-building opportunities and collaboration with campus leaders.

Qualifications

  • Undergrad student at UC Berkeley pursuing Marketing/Business/Communications or related field.
  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities with a flair for engaging content.
  • Passion for social media, branding, and campus engagement.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging social content for campus platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Help plan and execute student-focused marketing campaigns, promotions, and events.
  • Support experiential marketing efforts including author visits, store activations, giveaways, and student programs.
  • Research marketing trends and propose new engagement ideas for students.
  • Collaborate with bookstore leadership and campus partners on campaigns and projects.

The University of California, Berkeley campus bookstore is looking for a driven undergraduate student to join our team as a Student CMO (Campus Marketing Officer – Marketing Intern) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a hands-on opportunity to build real-world marketing experience while helping shape the student experience on campus.
