Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a student hourly to support a safe, nurturing childcare environment on campus. You will assist with daily routines, engage with children at an appropriate developmental level, and help implement activities that promote learning and development.

This role emphasizes following health and safety guidelines, keeping spaces clean, collecting data on child development, and collaborating with staff to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least 3 clock hours of child development training, or indicate willingness to complete this training prior to start date.
• Willingness to obtain pediatric First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Willingness to obtain pediatric CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support for children in a childcare setting. Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring compliance with KDHE licensing regulations
• Engaging with children at an appropriate developmental level
• Implementing positive behavior management strategies
• Collecting and maintaining accurate data related to child development and program activities
• Support and collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing environment for all children.
