Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is hiring a Student Child Care Worker for Community Education programs serving children in grades K-5 and preschool. The role involves supervising activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting program duties across multiple shifts.

The ideal candidate will have First Aid/CPR certification, reliable transportation, and flexibility to cover various shifts. Training in child development and related areas is preferred.

Qualifications

• Age 16 or older per Minnesota Statute§245H.08 Subd 3.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Flexibility and the ability to sub for other Child Care Workers or shifts is needed.
• Training and experience related to child development, child guidance, cultural dynamics, communication, and activities is desired.

Responsibilities

• Work with grades K-5 and/or preschool children in Community Education programs.
• Assist with indoor and outdoor activities, supervise children, and provide a safe environment.
• Interact with the children and provide positive behavior reinforcement and guidance.
• Maintain rooms, supplies and equipment, including washing toys and tables, maintaining inventory, and light cleaning.
• Work as part of a team with other staff or volunteers to maintain a positive work environment.
• Communicate with the Program Manager and staff regarding daily schedule and attendance.
