Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in a post-secondary environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be student-oriented with ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Exhibit sound judgment and discretion in working with students and the public.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Advising students to obtain and retain financial aid eligibility for all types of aid.
• Advising IRSC students individually on the financial aid process.
• Maintaining knowledge of Division services to support student needs.
• Advising on the Financial Aid application process and requirements.
• Evaluating and approving/disapproving student aid applications.
• Determining various aid awards and coordinating documentation.
• Supervising student employees and recording application information.
• Creating accurate records and using professional judgment for student requests.
• Coordinating state grants and scholarships and assisting with loan processing.
