Job summary

Vallivue is seeking an aide to assist the classroom and SPED teachers in achieving each child’s IEP goals through individualized, small-group, or whole-class instruction. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• RBT course completion certificate.
• Documentation of 1040 hours with children on application/resume.
• Previous aide/teaching experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to restrain as last resort per Idaho regulations and district policy.
• Knowledge of child growth and needs of children with disabilities.
• Knowledge of SPED classroom practices.
• Ability to instruct one-on-one and small groups.
• Strong teaching methods and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Knowledge of word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom or SPED teachers in achieving IEP goals through individual, small group, or whole group instruction.
• Maintain high academic standards and expectations.
• Provide tutorial help and reinforce material as directed by certified staff.
• Offer immediate feedback on student performance and respond to questions.
• Observe and record time on task and assist in locating materials.
• Deliver effective instructional programs and reinforce learning with individual or small group sessions.
• Use materials/sequences selected by SPED teacher to provide individualized instruction.
• Identify pupil needs and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Follow IEP modifications/accommodations.
• Administer informal assessments and participate in large group activities as directed.
